Good transit would complement Uber and Lyft

Currently most young professionals in Indy prefer using Uber or Lyft over public transit — emphasis on the word “currently.” The Marion County Transit Plan would not only present the opportunity to use public transit on a much larger level, but I think it would come with a whole new brand in the community as well.

I think young professionals are hesitant to consider public transit now because it’s not easy or convenient. Plus, as someone who lives and works downtown, it’s just easier for me and my friends to walk, bike or call Uber or Lyft. There seems to be no middle option. I do think that if the bus system is improved, and it’s easier and more convenient to use, the brand could improve and more young professionals will consider trying it.
