Purple Rapid Transit Line

Indy Connect completed a more detailed study of the Purple Rapid Transit Line in 2014. This study adds significant detail to the work that has already been done as part of the Indy Connect planning process and will prepare the region to apply for Federal funding to construct the project through the Federal Transit Administration at the appropriate time.

The Purple Line is approximately 16 miles long and extends from Eagle Creek Parkway (west) to the City of Lawrence (east) and would potentially connect to key destinations like Eagle Highlands, Lafayette Square Mall, Healthplex, Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indiana State Fairgrounds. and the Meadows and Devington communities.  Today, the Purple Line corridor is one of the more heavily traveled transit corridors in the region and is served by IndyGo Routes 38 and 39.
