Indy Connect Phase I Would Deliver 7,000 Jobs, $1.5 Billion in Worker Pay
April 18, 2013 - The first phase of the Indy Connect plan for improved mass transit in Central Indiana would create more than 7,000 jobs paying $1.5 billion to workers in its first 10 years, according to a study commissioned by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization.

Red, Blue and Green Line Studies Topic of Webinar
January 23, 2013 - The public is invited to learn more about the Indy Connect studies of the Red, Blue and Green lines by participating in a free Webinar on Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. Anyone with Internet access can participate in the Webinar. Planners will explain the work to be done on the proposed Red, Blue, and Green transit lines. Decisions made in 2013 will determine the number and locations of station stops, the mode of transportation (either rail or bus rapid transit), and whether the vehicles will operate in new or existing lanes of city streets.

On August 17 State Fair Visitors to Experience the Future of Transit
August 7, 2012 - Indiana State Fair
visitors on Aug. 17 will get the opportunity to experience the future of
Central Indiana transportation and see what an expanded transit system would
mean for the region. The
Indy Connect Day at the Fair will feature multiple experience stations, each
focusing on a major mode of transportation included in the plan. The stations
will include bus rapid transit (BRT), light rail, commuter rail, and a
life-size visual of a transit stop envisioned for 38th Street and
Fall Creek Parkway.

August 19 is "Indy Connect Day" at the Indiana State Fair
August 4th, 2011 -- Visitors to this year's Indiana State Fair will get an up-close look at the types of transit that are part of a comprehensive transportation plan for Central Indiana. During "Indy Connect Day," Friday, Aug. 19, State Fair Boulevard will be transformed into the Indy Connect Experience, where guests can immerse themselves in the Indy Connect plan and see how it could change the way they get to work, school, doctor's appointments, or the grocery store.

Indy Connect Announces Regional Transportation Plan
November 8th, 2010 -- Indy Connect, Central Indiana's Transportation Initiative, released a long-range transportation plan today that centers on a comprehensive regional bus system that connects to rail, as well as roadways, and bike and pedestrian walkways. Indy Connect aims to gather public input
February 10th, 2010 -- INDIANAPOLIS—Central Indiana’s transportation future took a major step forward today with the announcement of Indy Connect: Central Indiana’s Transportation Initiative, a regional effort to gather public input on a draft transportation plan for Central Indiana. The announcement was made today at Union Station and was highlighted by the official hand-off of a year-long regional transportation study conducted by the Central Indiana Transit Task Force, a group of business leaders dedicated to identifying transportation solutions for Central Indiana residents.
